So I'm writing this after having returned from Roanoke where April was a bridesmaid in her friend Amanda's wedding - excuse me, her "Christian Marriage." Now, many of you out there in blog land might be looking at my title and thinking, "But George, if it was a Catholic wedding then there must have been lots of liquor. Catholics like to drink." This is a common mistake, and it's understandable that you've made this error. Irish Catholics like to drink - not so much because they're Catholic as Irish, but they like the sauce none the less. This was not an Irish Catholic wedding.
Fortunately I am never without a plan - and in this case, willing participants in two days worth of hotel parties that saw the demise of quite a bit of rum, whiskey, beer, cheap champagne, and tequila. So, while the wedding reception offered up cheap champagne and poor choices in beer, the real party was in my hotel room. Just because there's not a party when I get there doesn't mean there doesn't have to be one at all.
All in all the wedding wasn't bad - a bit preachy for my taste, but what can you do. Congrats to Amanda and Ross and their impending pregnancy (Catholics don't like condoms ya know).

A Change of Venue
So, it's been a little over a week since April and I took control of the new apartment, and only a few days since we really moved in. To say that the last week has been stressful would be an understatement. I've forgotten how much I hate moving. Between the packing, the unpacking, the assembling, the decorating - I hate moving and plan to pay somebody the next time I have to do it.
On the plus side, after tonight we should be pretty much done with the old place and can really set down to making the new place feel like home. It's really come down to decorating, as pretty much all of the furniture has been put away. This of course means that everybody has to come down and visit now that I have a spare bedroom for people to stay in. Jim and Christian are coming down this weekend, so you can ask them how nice Chateau George is.
Other than that it's been work as usual. I continue to enjoy working at Big Oak, we've actually hired two new people in the last 2 weeks, and I only see good things happening for the company, especially since we just got MTV as a client - and that's going to bring in a ton of revenue.
I look forward to hopefully seeing people, though the rest of this month is spoken for, but start scheduling now people - I'm in demand.
