Well, I started classes today and it seemed (as the title suggests) a bit familiar. I'm good at working those in eh? Continuing on. Now, when I say familiar I don't mean the buildings, and I certainly don't mean the teachers, since I've never had any of them before, but more the feeling of the campus in general. Now, part of this may be because I don't live on campus, and more now than when I was a freshman, George Mason University seems to be leaning towards being less of a commuter school. But, getting back to those feelings, which I only have two of you know. Anyways. The feelings I got as I walked around campus were like somebody returning to their old high school after 10 years. Now, I'm 24, so I'm not that old, but I am older than a good number of people on my campus, but as I walked around and saw all of the obviously good friends that probably hadn't seen each other for over a month during Winter Break embrace and, in the case of a number of obviously freshman girls, emit ear-piercing squeals, I realized that it was like being back in high school again. And I shuddered.
Fortunately, being that I'm a junior, I don't have classes with most of these people. I'm sure you can sense my disappointment. But, on a plus note all of my classes (that's 2 for those of you counting) seem interesting, and my teachers seem interesting as well, always a plus, though one of them seems as queer as a $3 bill (that's a quote from my Mom...gotta love her). So, I'm back at school for another semester, managed not to kill anybody tomorrow, can't promise that that's a trend that will continue, but tomorrow is another day.
